David Newns Steps Down as Head of SIX Digital Exchange (SDX)
David Newns has resigned from his position as head of SIX Digital Exchange (SDX), marking the end of a tenure that saw significant advancements in blockchain-based financial market infrastructure. Under his leadership, SDX achieved multiple industry firsts, including the licensing of a blockchain-based FMI for CSD and exchange operations, digital bond issuance on a regulated platform, and interoperability between digital and traditional FMIs.
SDX now boasts over CHF 2.5 billion in digital securities issued, cementing Switzerland's position as a global leader in digital assets. Newns credited the success to the support of SIX, Swiss National Bank, and key partners like UBS and Zürcher Kantonalbank.
